An independent outlook. An international reach.

Co-founded in Turin in 2007, Indyca grew around creative documentary and auteur cinema. Andrea helped shape its production and distribution strategy, business development, and the practical work of turning an independent company into a home for ambitious films.

Its catalogue moves between intimate human stories, social questions, genre filmmaking, and international co-production. Andrea’s own producing work includes SmoKings, Elena, Zoo School, Cuban Dancer, and Samia.

A company carried forward by its people.

Andrea remains a shareholder alongside his partners Simone Catania, Michele Fornasero, Francesca Portalupi, and Giandomenico Musu, who continue to run and develop the company.

Their complementary practices give Indyca its working shape: Catania across producing, directing, and development; Fornasero across creative producing, directing, and marketing; Portalupi across production, organization, and development; and Musu across editing and post-production.

Andrea’s relationship with the company now continues as a shareholder and through selected production collaborations.

Stories reaching audiences across borders.

The company’s wider work includes Butterfly, the story of boxer Irma Testa and winner of the 2019 Globo d’Oro for Best Documentary; We Are the Thousand, Anita Rivaroli’s film about the musicians who brought the Foo Fighters to Cesena, which received a 2021 SXSW Audience Award; and Samia, recognized at Tribeca and Munich.

This is the creative and international context of the company Andrea helped build: films with distinctive subjects, strong directors, and lives beyond a single national market.

Different directors. Shared ambition.

From the tobacco-industry confrontation of SmoKings to the classical echoes of Elena, the institutional nightmare of Zoo School, Cuban Dancer’s coming-of-age journey, and Samia’s pursuit of freedom, the producing work spans very different cinematic worlds.

A directorial voice within the company.

Echoes brought Andrea’s directing, co-writing, and producing into an Indyca production, with Glen Blackhall, Stella Egitto, and Giuseppe Cederna.

Its international festival recognition includes the MIFF Awards, Santa Monica Film Festival, and three Los Angeles Movie Awards. It remains an important meeting point between Andrea’s authorship and the company’s production work.
