A life measured in more than seconds.

Inspired by the life of Somali Olympic runner Samia Yusuf Omar and adapted from Giuseppe Catozzella’s novel Non dirmi che hai paura, Samia follows a young woman whose desire to run becomes a struggle for freedom and self-determination.

Ilham Mohamed Osman plays Samia. The film brings a deeply personal story into an international production, connecting sport, migration, and the right to imagine another life. Andrea contributed as associate producer through his continuing collaboration with Indyca.

A story that crossed borders.

Following its world premiere at Tribeca in 2024, Samia received a Special Jury Mention in the International Narrative Competition. It also won the International Audience Award at Filmfest München.

In Italy, Non dirmi che hai paura received the Sorriso Diverso Roma Award for Best Italian Film during the 2024 Rome festival period, where it screened in Alice nella Città.
